Having important conversations in Movember

Movember is here again and once again the Think Concepts team is getting involved.

Movemeber is an annual fundraising campaign that raises awareness around men’s mental health, prostate, and testicular cancer. It’s a great cause and one we’re passionate about here at Think Concepts. After all, we’ve all got lots of great men in our life and we want to support them.

Did you know:

  • 1 in 9 men in New Zealand will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.

  • Testicular cancer strikes young, it’s the most common cancer in young New Zealand men.

  • Around the world, the rate of male suicide is alarmingly high: almost seven out of 10 suicides globally are men.

Our Goal:

This year we are aiming to raise $2000 to support the projects that Movember do to help with men’s health. The Think Concepts team are doing a range of challenges that you can support, from walking 200 KMs to growing a moustache. We are proud to say we have already raised $1280 towards our target of $2,000.

How you can help:

Movember’s mental health programmes are changing and saving lives, but they need to reach more men – that’s where you come in.

By visiting our fundraising page, you can follow our progress and donate to help support the cause. Or you can create your own fundraising page. With the money we donate, we can support Movember’s ground breaking health projects for all the dads, brothers, sons, and friends in our lives.
So please feel free to share the link above with anyone else who would like to participate or donate.

We also encourage you to check out some of the resources for men’s mental health on the Movember website. They have a great section on how to start a conversation with someone in your life you are worried about. And articles about how to tackle mental health conversations and to be there for people who may be struggling.
